Hiking in the Houdanais region
Looking for a hike in the Paris Region? In the Yvelines, we have the perfect place to satisfy your every desire: The Houdanais region and its hidden treasures!
The Houdanais is a region that has preserved both its heritage and its natural environment… Do you want to escape for a few hours, a weekend or an interesting holiday in a verdant rural setting ideal for ambles and hikes? Here are all the walking and hiking routes in the Pays Houdanais!
The Pays Houdanais, a land of hikes
The Houdanais is a verdant region with a wealth of landscapes and heritage, thanks in particular to its small villages such as Montchauvet, Courgent, Villette and Condé-sur-Vesgre. It’s also a great place for walking, horse-riding and cycling. It’s the ideal place to take in the fresh country air and relax in a rural setting that invites you to get away from it all.
The four valleys that make up the Houdanais region are brimming with charming spots: old mills and washhouses, ancient wells… Along the way, you’ll be able to admire the beautiful residences and castles that give this region its picturesque character.
While the rural charm of the Houdanais is picture perfect, we can’t talk about it without mentioning its main town: Houdan. As you stroll along, you’ll pass by the Saint-Jacques Saint-Christophe church, famous for its Cliquot organ and its fresco depicting the Houdanese pilgrimage to Montserrat, dating from 1582. And don’t miss a visit to La Tannerie, the town’s contemporary art centre, which hosts some top-quality exhibitions!
All tours are available directly from the Tourist Office.
