The Open de France golf tournament, the Paris-Nice cycling race, the World and European Track Cycling Championships – the Yvelines hosts a wealth of international sporting events, making it a natural choice for inclusion in the Paris 2024 bid.

In 2018 the Ryder Cup was added to this prestigious list, and since 2019 every final stage of the Tour de France has taken place in the Yvelines, a showcase for the region before the 2024 Olympics. Not forgetting the Track Cycling World Championships held at the National Velodrome in October 2022.

Finally, the 1st edition of the international show jumping competition, held at the Château de Versailles and featuring some of the world’s greatest riders, was such a success that it seems more than obvious that Versailles was the ideal place to host the Olympic equestrian events.
