The Ballet of the Teatro San Carlo in Naples was born at the same time as the famous opera. Today it is recognised as one of the most exceptional in Italy, and its international reputation is founded on more than a century of touring the world.

The ballet's new director since 2021, Clotilde Vayer, a former dancer and later Maître de Ballet at the Paris Opera, has breathed new life into this ensemble of magnificent dancers.

Jerome Robbins, who was one of the stars of the dance world for four decades, notably as director of the New York City Ballet, and who is best known to the general public for his celebrated choreography of West Side Story to music by Bernstein, opened up classical dance to audiences coming from Broadway, where he triumphed.

The Teatro San Carlo offers a tribute to this immense choreographer, who will take the ballet on a journey between poetry and virtuosity to the splendid music of Chopin's Nocturnes, Ravel's Concerto in G and Debussy's Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune.
