A treasure for a princess, Madame du Barry's château, the former Pavililon des Eaux, was Louis XV's gift to his 'favourite', the Comtesse du Barry. It is open only on special occasions; become one of the privileged few to enter inside.

The château is called the Pavillon des Eaux because it used to belong to the governor of the Machine de Marly, Arnold de Ville. It was given to Madame du Barry by Louis XV in 1769.
The countess made many alterations and additions, including the Pavillon de Musique, the orangerie, the glasshouse, a Doric temple and an ice house. The park was also reorganised, with water features, lawns and trees added. A splendid lime tree still stands at the top of the park.
