Around… Versailles

We love brunch at the Monument Café! Just a stone’s throw from the Château de Versailles and opposite the Potager du Roi (King’s Kitchen Garden), in the heart of the Saint Louis district, this now unmissable Versailles address offers two buffet selections, for a brunch that changes with your mood:

• A light selection for early risers, served from 9am to 11:30am. Pastries, cakes, mixed salads, sweet and savoury verrines, scrambled eggs, potatoes…it’s hard to choose between all these sweet treats!

• A complete selection served from 12pm to 3pm, for late sleepers with a good appetite! It includes all the dishes of the “light” selection, with a wider choice of sweet and savoury verrines. Pumpkin, chocolate crème dessert with orange and spices… Yum!

Restaurant La Cour also offers a gourmet brunch every Sunday from 11am to 3pm. The menu? A selection featuring fresh, homemade products from the market at Place du Marché Notre Dame in Versailles. And as the restaurant’s teams think of everything and everyone, a slightly less copious but just as tasty selection is proposed for children. Now there’s no excuse not to bring your whole troop!

Saint-Germain-en-Laye Estate

We’re crazy about the brunch served in the cosy and dapper Chez Alice tearoom! Just a stone’s throw from the Château de Saint-Germain-en-Laye and right in the centre of town, this excellent address welcomes you Saturday and Sunday lunchtimes from 12pm to 3pm, and also offers 2 brunch selections:

• Brunch du Prince: a light selection artfully combining sweet and savoury bites with fresh fruit juice and a hot drink.
• Brunch Royal: takes the same contents as the 1st and adds a sparkling glass of champagne scented with Morello cherry liqueur.

And don’t miss the Sunday Brunch every Sunday from mid-October to March at Cazaudehore La Forestière. The menu is vast and to die for: oysters, beef roulades with Thai basil, tuna maki, mushroom and foie gras millefeuille…all accompanied by succulent pastries, scrambled eggs and other breakfast staples!

In Saint-Germain, plan to book brunch at More Than Cake, a tearoom/boutique with 100% British charm. Two services exist every Sunday at 11am and 1pm. Here you can enjoy organic coffees and teas, smoothies, granolas, cheesecakes, carrot cakes and other hand-made pastries, as well as original savoury tarts and salads…

In summer, in the shade of the linden trees, or in winter by the sparkling fireplace, you’re sure to have a great time at the Au Vieux Marly tearoom-restaurant! The traditional, family-style cuisine is sure to please…and the 100% homemade pastries are a real treat!

You can also try Le Cottage, which welcomes you for brunch every Sunday. The restaurant loves this selection so much that it organises specials for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day…make sure you book in advance, as it’s very popular! Every Sunday, La Ruche de Rolleboise hosts its Grand Brunch. What better idea than Bruncherie in a bakery/patisserie whose viennoiseries and pastries are to die for? At Rolleboise, the Brunch selection includes:
