Eglise Mareil-Marly

Share on:

The Eglise Saint-Etienne de Mareil-Marly, with its high nave on three levels, was one of the first Gothic buildings in Ile-de-France.

Built on the site of an earlier, 12th-century church, it was listed as a Monument Historique in 1853.

Restoration work was carried out between 1872 and 1886 on the portals, façades and bell tower (built in 1878), the first stage of which was overseen by the Monuments Historiques architect, Eugène Millet, a student of Viollet-le-Duc.
