The Versailles municipal libraries are spread over nine sites. The first of these, the former Hôtel des Affaires étrangères et de la Marine (Bibliothèque Centrale), combines heritage collections with contemporary resources, for all ages from 12 upwards. The courtyard also houses the Music and Cinema area. There is also the Heure Joyeuse library for young people (children and teenagers), the Digital Workshop and the UIA library, both dedicated to lifelong learning. There are also five local libraries: Petits-Bois, Porchefontaine, Prés-aux-Bois, Saint Louis and Vauban.
