Four French artists invite you to discover their art, with its interplay of materials, shapes and colours. Each of them brings his or her own knowledge, technique, experience and sensibility to the table, without putting words into it, just letting you see.
Martine Saint-Arroman exhibits her colourful universe combining 2D and 3D through collages and sculptures tending towards abstraction. She gives pride of place to colours, superimpositions and free spaces. In her bronze sculptures, she uses simple, clean lines to evoke the human form.
Marc Vernier seeks complexity in simple structures, emphasising asymmetry rather than symmetry. He creates paintings, book objects and furniture, playing with materials (such as wood, metal and slate) and the right balance of different intensities of blacks, browns and whites.
Catherine Wintzenrieth, for her part, seeks simplicity by highlighting materials through engravings, mosaics and book objects. The balance between space, black, white and darkness is at the heart of her creative process.
