Experience the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games for free in the Yvelines
From 26 July to 8 September 2024, France and the Yvelines will be hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Summer Games! It's possible to enjoy the magic and excitement of competitions without breaking the bank! Here's a selection of ideas for experiencing the Olympic Games 2024 in the Yvelines, free of charge and without a ticket!
Before the Paris 2024 Games: the Olympic Torch Relay
The first free event to attend as part of the Paris Games: the Olympic Torch Relay, which arrives in France and starts in Marseille on 8 May 2024.
The Olympic Flame will travel throughout France, it will be in Paris on 14 and 15 July 2024, and will pass through 8 towns in the Yvelines on 23 July 2024: Mantes-la-Ville, Poissy, Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Rambouillet, Versailles, Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse, Les Mureaux and Guyancourt.
Attend free road cycling events in Yvelines
The men’s road cycling road race on 3 August 2024, and the women’s course on the following day will be visible free of charge in Yvelines for all spectators who set up along the route to cheer on the riders.
The women’s event takes place mainly in the Chevreuse Valley. The men’s route will take in Versailles, the Plaine de Versailles, Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines and Rambouillet.

A fan zone in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines
The Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines conurbation will be one of the main regions involved in the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The programme features five events, spread over 4 venues (mountain biking on the Colline d’Elancourt, cycling, para-cycling on the track and BMX at the National Velodrome, golf at Le Golf National). But also…a huge fan zone! Labelled Club 2024, it is set to be the largest fan zone in the entire Paris suburbs, since it will have a capacity of around 5,000 people per day, and will be open during all Olympic Games events, from 26 July to 9 August 2024.
The perfect opportunity to celebrate the Games, take part in the Games on giant screens, enjoy a range of cultural and festive events, and learn all about the expertise of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines… All free of charge!
This fan zone will be located on the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines leisure island, which straddles the municipalities of Trappes, Elancourt and Montigny-le-Bretonneux.
Paris 2024 Games broadcast in Yvelines sports bars
In these Yvelines bars, pubs and restaurants you should be able to watch your favourite sports live on the big screen, accompanied by many other fans:
Montigny-le-Bretonneux:
- Get together in a friendly atmosphere at the Up To You bar, near the National Velodrome, for a broadcast on the big screen!
- The team at the Au Bureau bar, a pub with a British feel, also welcomes you to experience the 2024 Olympic Games!
Voisins-le-Bretonneux:
- Two rooms and three giant screens provide the atmosphere on match nights at the O’Danpatty bar, Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines’ sports pub!
Mantes-la-Jolie:
- Head to the Les Coulisses pub to enjoy the match over a beer or sip a Pulpo homemade cocktail!
Gazeran:
- To experience the Olympic Games at Rambouillet Territoires, take advantage of a big-screen broadcast at Bureau Gazeran!
Saint-Germain-en-Laye:
- Opt for the English pub Bitter End, where you’d better arrive early to get a seat inside, as there are only 40 seats!
- The same goes for the new Les Fistons bistro – bookings recommended on match nights!
- Bar l’Amnesia is planning to broadcast on at least three screens, both indoors and on the terrace!
- There’s also a lively atmosphere at Café Jules and the neighbouring terraces in the pretty square on Rue Saint-Pierre!
Viroflay:
- La Boissonnerie bar broadcasts sporting events in a relaxed atmosphere!
Versailles:
- For a young and lively atmosphere, head for the royal city’s Place du Marché! The hall squares are surrounded by bars broadcasting the 2024 Olympic Games. At La Gaité and Le Franco-Belge, seats are scarce and the pedestrian walkways fill up fast!
- To watch the Olympic and Paralympic Games on the left bank of Versailles, head for the Baradoz or the legendary Coup d’Etat on rue Satory!
