Conflans is lucky to have its identity engraved in its name. It is located at the confluence the Seine and the Oise river. This museum has gathered,a unique collection of major pieces of our French rivers’ heritage.

At the very heart of the old downtown city, and very near the Seine shore, the museum is created
in 1966 inside an old “bourgeois” mansion.
The museum was completely renovated in 2014 with a new, lighter and more modern museography.
The “Beaux Arts” collection have been high-lighted: the museum of the Mankind history, Sciences and
techniques is now also an art museum. As you walk from one room to another, you will discover a fantastic
network of rivers and canals, the great technological innovations, the art works of the water roads, the river trip (since these roads also transport people).
Thanks to new communication tools such as logbook, visitor's Guide, small exhibition journal, coloring booklet, interactive kiosks – and a re-enforced animation policy, the museum has become a privileged place for discovery and learning adapted to all publics.
