Housing more than 4,000 pieces of toy trains and model railway collections, the Rambolitrain traces the history of railways from their early days to the present.
Located in Rambouillet and dedicated to what are commonly known as "electric trains," the Rambolitrain museum boasts a unique collection in France of toy trains and model railways. With more than 4,000 pieces, earning it the label "Musée de France," the museum presents a panorama of both artisanal and industrial productions of these miniature objects from the 19th century to the 1950s-1960s, marking the end of the golden age of toy trains.
In addition to these collections, there is a functional network of over 400 meters of track, a dream come true for model railway enthusiasts. The locomotives, wagons, tracks, stations, and the entire railway environment are recreated here at a 1/43 scale with extraordinary precision.
Rambolitrain offers various visit formats tailored to different audiences, along with diverse workshops and activities, and festive events. Game booklets are available for young visitors according to their ages. Additionally, there are workshops and activities (baby visits, kid visits, birthday parties, Lego workshops, escape games, etc.), as well as regular garden train days.
