Les Tanières de Thoiry
Compost toilets, meals based on local produce, no heating…the Tanières de Thoiry are a good example to follow when it comes to unusual AND environmentally-friendly accommodation! Also worth noting: Thoiry is the world’s first biomethane-heated animal park and castle! Thanks to methanisation, the park’s star animals have also become their own energy producers! From waste management and recovery to the production of 100% local green energy, this extraordinary project is also a great opportunity for the park to raise visitors’ awareness of environmental protection and the development of renewable energies.
La Bergerie en Vexin in Jambville
In the heart of the Vexin nature park, on the border of the Paris and Val-d’Oise regions, these Gîtes de France-labelled B&Bs and Gîtes selected by the famous Guide du Routard have also been awarded the “Parc Naturel Régional” and “Accueil Vélo” labels. For breakfast, the owners favour local, quality products from local producers within the regional nature park.
Huttopia campsites
Thanks to its sophisticated facilities, a real understanding of the real ecological issues, and the deep conviction that humans are part of nature, Huttopia has been able to establish itself harmoniously in the beautiful natural sites of Versailles and Rambouillet, respecting and enhancing them. An example? The Huttopia Rambouillet swimming pool is one of the few natural pools in France to be chlorine-free!
