To discover a garden suffused with magic, poetry and history, visit the Désert de Retz. With its original architectural creations, this landscaped garden, constructed in the 18th century, is the perfect place for a picturesque walk full of surprises.

The Désert de Retz was created between 1774 and 1789, when it was customary to enhance landscaped gardens with small buildings, structures that provide pleasant diversions for visitors as they stroll through the park. Be amazed by the Désert de Retz's original Oriental and Antique-inspired structures, admiring, as you walk around, the 25 m (82 ft) tall ruined tower, the ruined Gothic church, the temple to the god Pan, the pyramid icehouse, the tartar tent, the obelisk, the temple of repose and more. An exotic walk full of surprises!
